Tips For Choosing The Best Faucet For Your Home
By Colin Garza
Part of remodeling your kitchen or bathroom will lead you to purchasing the right faucet for the area. Why take the time to choose something? Why invest the time and money into something that seems so simple? The faucet is one of the foundations of the kitchen or bathroom. Without it, the rooms are virtually worthless. It is also one of the most used pieces in these areas and therefore should reflect some of the style and needs of the space as well. So, yes, taking a few extra minutes to choose the right faucet for your kitchen or bath is necessary.
What To Look For
Before heading to the local department store or the home improvement store, check out the options that you have in faucets right here on the web. You will find several things. First, you have options in the materials that are used in the faucet. While most faucets are made of stainless steel, others will be made of other materials such as brass and others. To choose the right materials, make sure to think about the needs in maintenance and the ease of use as well as the way the faucets matches other hardware in the kitchen or bath area. But, the materials are only the first thing that you should consider.
You also need to think about the way the faucet works. Now, this is mainly from a preference point, but the faucet can be designed in several ways. It can be a single lever handle or it can have several levers. It can feature a spraying unit that changes sprays or it can be a single version. Nozzles can be added to the side of the faucet so that you can extend the faucet to hard to reach areas or to flower pots. You should consider a higher level handle and faucet if you will need to fill large pots that you want to set in the sink.
Oh the choices! Still there are other things to consider about the faucet. You will want it to be easy to use. You’ll want children to be able to reach it and to turn it on and off simply without allowing them to scald their hands. You will want it to look good too, right?
To that point, many people have found that designing their kitchen or bath around a faucet makes for an interesting design. With so many designs offered, you are sure to find ones that you just love. Then, you can find ways to add the same design throughout the area. For example, the cabinet doorknobs and handles can feature the same style or materials as the faucet. You can add the same curves to the other areas of the rooms. These things really can help to make the faucet fit in well with your kitchen or bath needs.
All this from a faucet choice? Yes, and we recommend that you take the time to look at several so that you find just what you need and want for your home!

Williamsburg brings the Terrace Lifestyle to New York
By Peggy I.
I count myself as one of the luckiest luxury apartment dwellers in New York. Williamsburg really. I managed to find a place to rent in Williamsburg with a terrace.
That precious few feet of fresh air and sunshine can mean all the world to me. I do live on Kent, right across from the river, and have access to more than enough exercise and outdoor activity than anyone could ask for. It just requires a short walk across the street.
There is nothing like enjoying a little spot of your own to hold an alfresco dinner party, or the privacy to lounge away the afternoon with a good book.
Since I have never owned a terrace before. I never knew what I was missing. Of course, the patio needs chairs and decorations. I plan on enjoying a little retail therapy to find a few things I need to create my ideal of a summer paradise.
My goal is to do such a good job that I’ll decide to stay home this summer, instead of summering in New Brunswick, like I usually do in August.
The first stop will be the annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair on May 18 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. If you missed it, that’s a lost opportunity. You must make a point of attending next year. It’s a fabulous event where I find some terrific ideas.
I usually have a rough idea that expresses how I want to decorate. There are several ideas that fit how I want my terrace to function. I will use outdoor furniture that continues the contemporary theme I have going on inside my apartment. Iwould like the transition as seamless as possible.
I am designing around. two furniture groupings, a table big enough to seat six, even if we have to squish a little bit, and a lounger that will adjust enough to let me sit upright enough to read, but is still comfortable enough for an afternoon nap. Since I get sun most of the day, I also need a sunshade. After all, freckled people don’t tan. They just keep burning until their freckles merge.
I visited the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and fell in love with Japanese gardens. I’ll find a place in Williamsburg that sells planters and plants that re-create the Japanese theme.
I spotted a beautiful teak table at the garden center a few weeks ago that I think would be perfect, but I haven’t seen any chairs that I like yet. Loungers have the opposite problem, everywhere I look there are too many to choose from. I love them all. One of my favorites is Arthur Rottier’s new EPS lounge chair offered in some funky new colors, but they are far too contemporary for my japanesque theme.
I’ve been haunting the garden centers for plants to match my theme, but sometimes I think there’s such a thing as too much choice. I plan to travel over to the New York Flower Market on my lunch hour. I want to compare their selection and learn a few ideas from their experts.
Summer will start when my terrace is ready, so that I can begin my extended summer holiday. That’ll be me you’ll see waving the tall glass at you as you stroll down Kent Ave, Williamsburg NY, on a steamy Sunday afternoon.
